A Prayer for Catholic Psychotherapists

Dear Catholic therapists and counsellors, may this prayer keep you close to the Father during every session.

Lord, be here with me.  Sanctify this space. Make it holy.

Make me aware of your presence.

Work through me to heal even as I, myself, am wounded.

I invite you into my body, my heart, and my mind- take over.

May my ears be open, my hands soft, and my eyes ever so kind.

May I speak kindness in a way that mends, and truth that disrupts.

May I have the courage to be silent and the strength to speak.

May I trust in the goodness of your presence abiding in me, that it is enough.

May my tears be gifts, my laughter be hope,

and my gaze be the blessing to press on.

Lord, I acknowledge your presence within this Holy space.

May I know that I am not alone.

Send an army of angels and saints to intercede and witness your healing power.

I dedicate this work as an offering to You.

Keep your hand upon me, Lord, do not let me offer anything that is evil.
